2026.40 Pythonesque

Andrew Shitov just keeps on coming with amazing developments. This week: Raku++ as a Python module, allowing Python programs to use the unique capabilities of the Raku Programming Language (in that context: think Raku grammars!) inside a Python program.

Of course Andrew also blogged about this, and continued the series of blog posts about Junctions.

Raku Weekly

The observant reader may have noticed that this weekly blog has changed its name to “Raku Weekly News”. The reason for this is really that there are now three viable implementations of the Raku Programming Language, of which “Rakudo” is only one. To make clear this blog is about the Raku Programming Language regardless of its implementation, it was time to change the name.

The reason this blog was originally called “Rakudo Weekly News” was because when this blog was started (in July 2019) there were many discussions about the name of what is now the Raku Programming Language. However, there was only one viable implementation at the time, and its name was “Rakudo”. So it felt as a good idea at the time to call the blog “Rakudo Weekly News” then.

But the times have changed. And in that respect, for the better!

The main developers of Raku++ and Mutsu have been informed of this change, and have promised to deliver any news-worthy items to the Raku Weekly News for inclusion!
